Abnormalities of the penis, foreskin and testicles
Male genitals mainly include the penis, testicles and scrotum, which is the bag which the testicles are in. Various health problems may affect these organs, and although they are not usually serious, they can be very uncomfortable and greatly limit a normal life. This clinic offers a detailed study and personalized treatment backed by extensive experience in the management of all these diseases with excellent results.
My penis is curved. What is that? That problem is called penile curvature, and has two possible causes. It may be present from birth (congenital) or secondary to La Peyronie’s disease, or previous trauma (acquired).
What problems does penile curvature cause? It can cause pain, difficult penetration and discomfort that could be intense for both the male and his partner. In advanced cases it may cause an inability for penetration.
Can it be treated?Yes. Although some drug treatments for the early stages are available, in most cases surgery is needed to correct the curvature and restore the penis to a shape that enables it to penetrate easily. There are several surgical techniques to be applied depending on the case; the surgical technique should be personalized.
I have noticed that my testicles are bigger than before. Is that serious?Usually it is due to scrotum enlargement, the pouch of skin where the testicles are. These problems are usually benign but can be very uncomfortable.
What is the cause? It depends. In most cases it is due to an inguinal hernia, an accumulation of fluid in the layers covering the testicle (hydrocele), the presence of a cyst in the cord or to the enlargement of the veins of the testicle (varicocele). Much less frequently it may be due to a testicular tumour. Therefore we recommend that you consult a doctor for diagnosis.

Yes. Generally in advanced cases, treatment is usually surgical. The technique to perform depends on the type of problem found and the patient’s characteristics.
I have noticed discomfort in the skin covering the penis during erection. Have I got phimosis? The skin covering the end of the penis is called foreskin or prepuce. When it causes discomfort with the erection or when trying to retract it for proper hygiene of the glans, it may be due to the presence of phimosis or a short tongue-tie.
Noto molestias en la piel que cubre el pene en la erección. ¿Tengo fimosis? Is it serious? What is the solution? It is not a serious problem but it could be very uncomfortable, and in some cases it could lead to problems such as infection, pain with erection or inability to perform proper hygiene of the penis. Advanced and long lasting cases have been associated with an increased risk of penile cancer.
The solution to these problems is generally a surgical treatment which is usually performed under local anesthesia.
